Turid has taught violin and viola privately for over 20 years. She currently maintains a full time, private studio of violin and viola students in the Columbus, Ohio area. She specializes in traditional instruction: beginner, intermediate, and pre-collegiate advanced levels; the transition from Suzuki to traditional instruction; rehabilitation of playing fundamentals; and setting up the beginner correctly from the start. Her students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and playing levels. Many of her students are/have been members of The Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestras Program including: Junior, Chamber, Cadet, and Youth Orchestras as well as the Ohio Music Education Association Region and All-State Orchestras. After high school, her students have gone on to pursue careers in music, business, science, psychology, nursing, and medicine. Students are eligible for acceptance into the studio through an initial interview/audition.
